It must be Rock Rose: Cistus × florentinus — I found it in the botanical gardens, less than 200 yards from where I was born. Probably Mediterranean; not from Nepal as I first thought. Quite small.
… and then I wonder about your thoughts, emerging when you beh(e)old this flower …
… it was a dark and cloudy day, and the field of depth was only about a centimeter … this one is ok, but 8 out of 10 pictures I shot that day, were good for nothing 🙂 …
I see from the comments that I’m not the only one who thought this might be a paper flower 🙂
the light must have given it this kind of papery look — it looks a bit wrinkled, and that gives it character 🙂
The petals do look wrinkled. That’s the first thing that jumped out at me. It’s a really beautiful effect.
Is this real? There’s so much to think about when you see this flower. Which flower is it, Bert?

The petals appear so paperish. And there’s something surreal about it. Dreamy. Meadowish.

I can imagine the hard work it takes. It appears so from the image. I’m sure you must be finally happy with this one.
Yes, this one excelled, and I’m happy with the result.
It’s not hard work …
it’s a ‘relief’ from work. It brings the silence back into my head.
Wow. That’s super.
Bert, I love that you take these photographs. A great practice for anyone in mindfulness of the amazing planet we live on.
.. thank you, Bela .. Big SmilE 🙂
