reminiscence …

… what happened to memory?

– it remembered cotton-grass upon seeing it

– it recognized the name of one unimportant house,
and the name of only one mountain cabin

– it recalled a valley, but did not recognize it at all, although nothing much had changed …

next …

mind made a context and reasoned that 33 years ago it was the last time ever that i(t) went on a holiday together with my parents and sister …

sometimes …
when mind goes back to a place it has been before, it continues from its last visit, as if it was just yesterday …

but in this case, …
… it had erased
almost everything

    • it seems as if the grooves rendered by the experience 33 years ago, were too shallow, and hadn’t been deepened over time by the repetition that the memory needed …
the space in beteween … YES … when we go somewhere and focus on the changes since … we were here last … and if you want to catch up, you will always run late πŸ™‚
