I have this ‘flu like’ viral infection.
It’s not a flu, I’m not completely out,
but get tired easily, and sleep a lot.
Paracetamol makes fever, and joint-pain and lack of appetite
fade to background … but not always. I often wait too long between doses,
just to see whether it is going better already, or not.
I want to do something more intelligent than read the online news.
Lying down, and passively watching or reading works fine.
But I recognise how this little illness slows down and even limits mental capacity.
Not consciousness itself, … consciousness is …
Mental capacity is easily disturbed when things go difficult.
Inner resistance creates a feeling of anger, blaming the writers
of the how to documentation that I tried to follow.
Is it the anger that limits my mental capacity?
Is it my resistance against illness that limits my mental capacities?
Shouldn’t I just slow down a little,
also for activities involving the brain?
Wouldn’t it work if I do this thing more slowly?
One step at a time?
I’ll give it another try
in a couple of minutes.

Good to know…Happy blogging ! 🙂
Take care and be well, always!
Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend ahead, my friend! Cheers~ 😀
Thank you, BWU.
I think the viral enemy has been defeated. I was able to work this week, although the first two days, in a shaky-tired condition, but since yesterday, I feel fine again.
Glad to know you are feeling well already, my friend!
Take care and be well, always~ Cheers!! 😀
You also take care, and thank you.
Thank you, my friend!! Cheers~ 😀
I’m under the weather too. Take care.
Hope you recover soon! Take good care of yourself!
I hope you’re feeling better. I like to check out mentally and physically when I’m sick. Light reading and light T.V. are what I typically do. It’s a great way for me to take a vacation from my unfortunate habit of striving. Take care! Celeste 🙂
Thx. Spent a day without medicine, (never took too many, always want to feel what happens if I wait too long between doses to see I’m not cured yet) and feel the body working on a cure. Slight discomforts, better appetite, … I think I will be able to work this Tuesday.
Get well, and please take care of yourself.
Thank You, Aina. I’m taking a lot of rest.
This post describes about a year of my life. lol. Well said Burt. Glad you’re starting to feel better.
Even before your comment I started thinking how to live when this becomes permanent, when I get older for instance.
You are a very brave person! You found the answer to keeping the balance between fighting for health and surrender.
Is it not better to be without illness?
Feeling better now, it certainly is!
I want to let you know that I have nominated you for the Dragon’s Loyalty Award. http://richardacross.com/2013/11/08/the-dragons-loyalty-award/
Thank you, Richard.
You are welcome!
Bert, take the right to rest without questioning it – let go of all thoughts and rest your body, mind and emotions.
Thank you, Genie. Rested 3 days now — and starting to feel a little better 🙂
Hope you are better now, Bert.
I took no medicine today, and I’m able to teach maths (factorization) to my oldest. A lot better! Back on my feet but not running … 🙂 yet
Bert, slow down for awhile. Listen to your body. I have been sick with a flu-like thing on and off for weeks now and maybe because I won’t rest for more than one day. Don’t follow my bad example and get well. Hope you will be fine real soon! Blessings of healing, Ellen
Yes, surrendering and slowing down are key. It’s not easy. Thank you.
Gosh I hope you start feeling better soon Bert! hugs to you my friend.

rest and recuperate!
thank you, Cindy!
hope you feel better soon!
Thank you, Bill.
Tons of sympathy – remember summer before last ? – I had 6 weeks of my own species of such. Sometimes it IS good to slow down – if you won’t – something else will “make” you. Perhaps there is a purpose, perhaps something is simmering below conscious awareness. Listen to your body/mind and give it the respect of honoring its needs. Hugs to you – it matters – to me at least. Wishing you well, sooner than soon.
Hi Deb, feeling better already. I don’t think this one is walking pneumonia. And it also doesn’t look like ‘whatever i had’ in April. Thanks a lot for the wishes of health, and the advise to listen. We all think we are invincible like Hercules, until … 🙂
Hugs, and hoping to be back to 100% in a couple of days.
Just on the matter of “capacity” and “ability”, and purely as a matter of interest, although dictionaries seem to see them as meaning the same, I use them differently:
Imagine a one litre vessel. This has the capacity to hold a litre as long as it is not damaged. If there is a hole in it it does not have the ability to hold a litre. So, we then have a vessel with a capacity of one litre but the ability to hold a lesser amount. 🙂
Thank you for this somewhat funny information. I think that you can never fill a bottle till its full capacity, due to gases and the presence of a stopcock. And without the stopcock, gravity and evaporation might soon yield the contents to near zero (but never zero). 🙂
I found great advise on your website 7 concerning flu like symptoms. THX
Why never zero?
physically it is impossible to empty a bottle for 100%. There is always something in it, even in empty space it will be full of quantum weirdness, popping in and out.
Yep! Gotcha!
Best wishes to a healthy Bert in a sick yet recovering Universe. Peace, Ik
Thank you, Erik.
Hope you’re feeling better soon, Bert. Sometimes is better to stop analysing and just surrender. Healing Pawkisses are on the way 😉
Thank you all! 🙂 Surrendered yesterday, did some small things today.
Sorry you are sick my friend.
thank you – I will need more sleep to kill all the bugs
Good decision.
it works now … the howto was not 100% but I made my way through … 🙂
