unfreeze the sadness

let the beauty around you unfreeze your heart

let the beauty around you unfreeze your heart

I think we all know the feeling.
Sometimes it’s hard, sometimes it is unbearable.
It silences me. And I don’t know what to say.

Suffering brings people together, sharing ….
That is the only good thing about suffering.
You get to know friends, those who remain,
and you get to know peers in suffering,
and comfort each other.

There is no good advise.
“Keep swimming and go with the flow”
said those who could tell about the event.

… But those who couldn’t?
… What did they do?

Sigh!

But … there is always something …

Look around you.
Look at at every sparkle of light.
Did you see the sunrise today?
Do you notice that greener shade of  green after the rain.
The colours of spring, fall, summer, the white of winter.

The beauty of a raindrop hanging from a leaf.
The beauty in the flowers, …

Does it freeze where you live, now and then,
and do you know how mist can freeze onto a spider web.
And how beautiful that can be.

Feel the awe of beauty around you.

Look at the stars,
lightyears away.

Look at yourself, the miracle that you ‘are’!
That you are conscious and that you can feel, unlike a stone.
That you can think about those feelings,
and write about them.

Look at the children.
Always playing,
Look at the love for them from their parents, grandparents.
Their kindergarten teacher …

Listen to great music, behold great art.

And don’t forget that all this are just moments.
Moments of beauty,
Moments of joy and happiness,

Think about the sad moments,
but don’t forget they are just moments.

Divide your periods of sadness
into quanta of being.

Not every moment is sad,
not every moment is happy,
not every moment is angry,
not every moment is peaceful,
and lift up your spirits by the light
in all those miracle moments of being.

And Love,
LOVE, Love life,
Love yourself,
Love People,
Love the world.

There is only love,
and although we often think we are separate from it,
we cannot be separate,
not from love,
not from this universe.

  1. Beautifully broken down, Bert.
In a sense you have painted with words of many colours – we need each colour; especially colour that opposes other colour, for only then does colour ‘sing’.

I must remember to drop by your place more often 🙂 ’twas lovely to visit again.

  2. This is so beautiful, Bert. My favorite parts –

Look at yourself, the miracle that you ‘are’!
That you are conscious and that you can feel, unlike a stone.
That you can think about those feelings,
    and write about them.

    and

Don’t forget (all those experiences) are just moments.

All things must pass, thankfully, when we aren’t enjoying the experience; but even these do sweeten “the other moments” in contrast.

    Fondly,
    Deb
